Before I Ever Picked Up a Camera…
I had one of the biggest moments of my life:
🎀 My very first business launch.
I had just opened a selfie studio. It was my creative baby—my first bold leap into entrepreneurship. The celebration was set: catering, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, the local Chamber, a bartender, friends, family… and yes, a hired photographer to capture it all.
But when 4:00 PM rolled around—the exact time the ribbon was supposed to be cut—my photographer was nowhere in sight.
By the time she arrived?
📸 The moment was over.
🎉 The ribbon had been cut.
📂 And when I received the gallery… there were hardly any photos of me.
Not a single image that told my story as the founder, the host, the woman who made it all happen.
That Moment Changed Me.
I remember feeling invisible—like I didn’t even exist in my own story. I had put my heart, my money, and my dream on the line… and there was nothing to show for it.
That disappointment became my fire.
When I became a photographer, I made a quiet promise to myself:
📝 No client of mine will ever feel like a background character in their own celebration.
And just to be clear—we’re good now.
I still talk to that photographer from time to time. But the lesson stuck with me:
Moments matter. Presence matters.
